“I really like the Airways product, I have a few horses that have a harder time breathing when they’re on course, they get a little bit more stressed. So they get that [Airways] and I think it helps them stay more calm and breathe a little bit easier.”

Ansgar Holtgers Jr. is a rising young American show jumping competitor who has quickly made a name for himself on the international circuit with notable wins and consistent performances against elite fields. Born into a horse-affine family and raised in the saddle from a young age, Holtgers emerged as a strong junior rider — capturing team gold and individual silver at the FEI North American Youth Championships and winning the Neue Schule/USEF Junior Jumper National Championship in 2022, showcasing his talent early in his career.
As a professional, Holtgers Jr. has continued his upward trajectory with a series of significant results in major FEI competitions. In 2024 he won his first international Grand Prix, taking the $140,000 KASK CSI 3 Grand Prix* at the Winter Equestrian Festival aboard Chanyon as the sole clear round. In the 2025 season he achieved the biggest victory of his career to date by winning the $200,000 KASK CSI 4 Grand Prix* at WEF Week 11 riding Pixel-K van’t Kattenheye against a field that included nearly 20 Olympians.
Beyond these headline wins, Holtgers has also enjoyed success in other international classes, including a CSI4 1.50 m Table A victory* aboard Kantibes at the Longines Global Future Champions event and strong placings in high-level speed and U25 Grand Prix competitions. At just 20 years old, he has already jumped in his first five-star Grand Prix, continues to travel and compete in both North America and Europe, and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in the sport.
