Michael Morrissey

Michael Morrissey is a seasoned American show jumping rider and trainer who grew up immersed in the sport in Bradenton, Florida, surrounded by a family deeply involved in horse show production and competition. He now operates Imperial Show Stables with his wife, Lourdes de Guardiola, developing top hunter and jumper prospects and training riders year-round between Wellington, Florida, and Lexington, Kentucky.

Morrissey earned early international success in 2006 when he won a Grand Prix in St. Tropez aboard Crelido, marking one of his first major victories overseas. In the United States, he claimed the win in the Rood & Riddle Grand Prix, further establishing himself as a serious Grand Prix contender.

He has continued to produce strong results at the highest levels of the sport, including a third-place finish in the prestigious American Gold Cup at Traverse City Horse Shows, competing against elite international fields. Morrissey has also earned wins and top placings at circuits such as the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, consistently delivering competitive rounds in major jumper classes.

Throughout his career, Morrissey has combined success in the ring with a strong reputation as a trainer and horseman, balancing high-level competition with the development of horses and riders for long-term success.
